The local area

The Highwayman is just 6 minutes walk from the train station and is right on the doorstep of the historic Grand Union Canal and Berkhamsted Castle, so there is plenty for history buffs to take in, whilst our town centre location means we are perfect for a post-work pint or quick lunch whilst shopping.

Further afield you can cycle or walk round the beautiful Chilterns before resting your weary feet in front of our roaring log fire. We also have a partnership with Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club and we’ve been told we’re the perfect place to come and dine and drink after a match!
